On The Desk

I’ve had my Powerbook for nearly two years now… and I have fallen in love with the way OS X does things. My main machine has remained Windows though, so I haven’t been able to enjoy a lot of the productivity boosters like Quicksilver, Spotlight, Expose, and on and on the majority of the time. The Tax Free Weekend here pushed me over the edge and I picked up a 20″ iMac with the dual core Intel.
Wow.
This thing is great! I am slowly transitioning all of my data to it from my Windows desktop (pictured on the right) and am figuring out the best workflows for different jobs. I’m still struggling to figure out how I’m going to manage my photo editing.
Synergy has been a life saver during this process. I can control both computers with one mouse and keyboard, switching between the two by just moving my mouse from one screen to the other. I’m planning to format the Windows machine once all of my data is off and turn it into a 3D modeling workstation for my Industrial Design studio at school.
If you have any great Mac tips, or photo workflow tips, please feel free to leave them in the comments!
