The next evolution of Flickr was launched today. Dropping the beta badge, Flickr is not in “gamma” stage. There are changes all over the site, including navigation, search, a new Organizr app, and a person menu. Looking at it for the first few seconds, things look really nice and clean. Skype has now made all calls to the US and Canada using SkypeOut free. They promise that it will be free until the end of 2006. They have no promises after that, but say that it doesn’t mean they will start charging for sure. This is pretty huge… if you have Skype software and an open internet connection you can now make unlimited phone calls for free.
I imagine that this is a direct result of the cash injection Ebay gave Skype when it bought the service earlier. I imagine that this will also drive the market for cheap USB, bluetooth, and WIFI handsets. Head over to www.skype.com to get started.
