Actually, I've been using Flickr for a little while now, and I absolutely love it. I'm going to post a follow up soon now that I've gotten my hands dirty with the service.

Flickr does have it's own Hello-type of interface. It's called Flickr Live. It's a big chat-room type interface where you can host your own room, have buddies in a buddy list, and most importantly, you can share images. You can instantly share images you already have in your Flickr account by clicking and dragging them from a bar at the bottom of the screen. There is also an upload button that lets you share images you don't have uploaded into your account. Flickr Live runs in Flash (I believe, it could be shockwave, I need to investigate further) which makes it platform independent. It runs exactly the same on my Powerbook and my Windows desktop.

Look for a follow up post on Flickr here soon. In the meantime, I'll tell you that I'm absolutely loving the service.
