It’s here. People waited, and speculated, and argued… but we finally have an answer. I think this is the first iMac I’d really like to own myself. I never really cared for the forms of the previous iMacs. Not to say they weren’t revolutionary or well designed, but they just never appealed to my personal tastes. The new G5 iMac, however, is something I’d put right on a desk at home. Check out www.apple.com for information, specs, and more pictures.

I’ve got a little wireless network running in my dorm room. I know it’s nothing new… but it’s a nice feeling to have all of my devices up and running in one spot.

My friend Alan hit me up with a real cool link today. Electricsheep.org is a distributed computing project where computers collectively render fractal looping animations, which are then downloaded by each participating computer and used as screensavers. There are clients for most OS’s, including Linux, Unix, Windows, and a beta for OSX. Worth a look!
