Well.. Project “Desk Computer” is dead. It looks like the mobo shorted out somewhere because I cannot get the system to boot up at all. Nothing happens when I hit the power switch. That’s what I get for running a system without a case I guess. Looks like grounding is important after all. So now I’m just going to put down the cash and build a real system. Right now I’m looking at a P4 2.53gighz on a Asus P4S8X motheboard. I may go to a P4G8X Deluxe if I can afford it. This bad boy has Gigabit LAN built in. I’m getting a 19″ NEC monitor. I’ll stick my current sound card and CDROM drive in the new computer. Right now I’m still searching for a case, RAM, and hard drive. I’d love to go with something over 120gig for the hard drive. Of course, wouldn’t we all? I do not plan on “modding” my case, because I plan on letting my computer spend most of its time under my desk. I am entertaining the idea of building certain parts, such as the CDROM, into my desk.
